The grapefruit is a subtropical citrus tree grown for its fruit which was originally named the "forbidden fruit" of Barbados. Grapefruit is high in vitamin C & potassium, is good natural source of folate, iron, calcium, and other minerals, is high in fiber & low in calories, and contains bioflavonoids and other plant chemicals that are known to protect against cancer & heart disease.
